Learn to Play Day 2017: Event Update

Learn to Play Day 2017 is building momentum with lots of new events being announced. Check out the thousands of FREE music lessons available for everyone at venues across the country and find one near you. The flagship event of the charity Music for All has just had its own anthem created by UK singer / songwriter Nina Schofield. Beat Another Rhythm was commissioned by long term supporters of the event, Yamaha Music London.

Nina Schofield, who has just become an ambassador of Music for All, will be holding FREE live music workshops for 8-15 years olds at Yamaha Music London, Wardour Street, Soho, London on 24th and 25th June as part of Learn to Play Day. Yamaha Music London is encouraging the public to arrive early at the store to register and secure the session spot of their choice.

Pink Floyd drummer, Nick Mason has been an ambassador of the Music for All charity for some years and recently spoke to Ultimate Guitar about the event. Check out his interview and take a look at the competition being run in conjunction with IK Multimedia to win a complete recording system for guitarists.

Ash Soan, the drummer who has worked with Adele, Robbie Williams and many more will be appearing at PMT Norwich on Saturday 24th and Lower Than Atlantis’ drummer, Eddy Thrower will be helping to give music lessons at ACM, Guilford’s Academy of Contemporary Music.

The Warwick Music Group, the team behind the world’s first plastic trombone, the pBone, is on a mission to get as many people as possible to pick up an instrument for the first time. The music company is loaning instruments for free to help people begin their musical journeys in June. For Learn to Play Day JHS in conjunction with Music News are offering an opportunity to win a pbone or a pbuzz. JHS are also working with Garforth Brass who are offering anyone who ever wanted to try playing a brass band instrument to have a FREE go.
