Former Ramones Drummer Preparing Solo Release

Former Ramones drummer Richie Ramone has announced that he’ll release his debut solo album, “Entitled,” this fall. The set will arrive as a digital download on Sept. 17 and later be available as a CD and vinyl LP on Oct. 8.

In addition to playing drums on the release, Ramone also sings lead vocals on the tunes. Other musicians features on “Entitled” include lead guitarist Tommy Bolan, bass player Clare Misstake and drummer and rhythm guitarist Ben Reagan. In total, “Entitled” features 12 songs.

Speaking with Billboard about the solo album, Ramone explained that the release is a long time coming. “We’ve had this in the works now for a while and we’re really excited about working with DC-Jam to get this out,” Ramone said. “We put a lot of work in on creating this and we’re really proud of it.”

Ramone has announced that he will support “Entitled” with a tour, but tour dates have yet to be announced. For the latest on Ramone and the solo release, head to his official website.

Richie performed in the Ramones from 1983 until 1987 and laid down drums for three of the group’s studio releases: “Too Tough to Die,” “Animal Boy” and “Halfway to Sanity.”
