Last week the Year 10 and 11 pupils at Coleraine High School were treated to a drumming master class by ex Status Quo drummer Jeff Rich.
In the course of the afternoon the former acclaimed drummer outlined the development of drumming from its early origins in Africa to the modern advanced drum kit that is used today.
Pupils got the opportunity to try a range of drumming techniques on a variety of drums in the course of the session.
Undoubtedly the highlight of the afternoon was when Jeff Rich playing drums teamed up with the staff ‘Rock Band’ to play the well known Status Quo hit ‘Rocking all over the world’.
With Principal Mrs Anne Bell on Piano accompanied by Mr McCreery, Mr Bell, Mr Pepin and Miss Carson on Guitar, and the vocals supplied by Mr Semple and Vice-Principal Mr David Donaldson, the scene at Coleraine High School was quite electric!
